The Trent Valley Quiz League was formed in 1990 as a memorial to John Morrall who died in 1989. John was a quiz enthusiast and prepared regular quizzes to raise money for local charities. The Quiz League at present consists of nine local pubs who compete for the John Morrall Memorial Trophy, the trophy a framed copy of the Magna Carta is much sought after by all the competing pubs. The season this year will commence at the beginning of October, with the teams competing for the league trophy (pictured right) as well as a separate knockout trophy competition. Use the link below to contact the organizer. The presentation evening takes place in at the end of the season at one of the competing pubs, this generally takes the form of an open evening, where anyone can join us for a light hearted quiz. The AGM is held in the summer during the 'closed' season, and allows feedback on the league, questions, and other matters, as well as an opportunity for captains of new teams to apply for membership.
